Wells Fargo First Saturdays The First Saturday afternoon of the Month Is Free at the Museum! The Museum is offering free admission to the Museum Exhibits from 2-6 pm on the first Saturday of each month with the launch of Wells Fargo First Saturdays, beginning on June 7. In addition to the free exhibits, visitors can enjoy a chance to "go behind the plexiglass" with the Explore the Story stations. As the state history museum for all Texans, the Museum believes that this effort is very important because of its unique capability to present historic treasures from around the state and its wealth of educational resources. These benefits have the capacity to make history come alive for individuals and increase their chances of academic success.

Gems and Minerals exhibit
On display will be 100 specimens collected from all over the world, including a 925-carat blue topaz crystal from Mason County, Texas, along with magnificent specimens of azurite, cinnabar and wulfenite, delicate leaf gold, unusual copper in calcite, and sparkling crystals of cerussite, among others.

Nature Photography and Pottery Exhibit at the Wildflower Center
Bruce Leander’s works, showcased in the McDermott Learning Center, demonstrate his ability to capture the vitality of the Center and its smallest residents. His vivid photos include pictures of pollen-covered bees harvesting nectar and a spider’s intricate web. Susie Fowler strives to capture the spirit of the earth; by joining a patchwork of small tablets into finished pieces. They range from a fresh bouquet of wildflowers to bowls decorated with fossil symbols.
